In general, members of DLC’s Board of Directors
reflect the diverse constituency served by DLC. We are mandated by
federal acts to serve individuals with developmental, mental, and
physical disabilities. Persons with disabilities, family members,
professionals, and providers are all represented on the Board. DLC
is also committed to appointing members representative of Alaska’s
diverse ethnic and cultural communities and makes efforts to insure
the Board reflects different geographic areas of the state.

There is one regular meeting and one annual meeting
of the Board of Directors a year. The date of the regular meeting is
determined by the Board President. The annual meeting is held during
the month of September. In addition to the regular and annual
meetings, two additional telephonic meetings are usually held each
year.

All travel, room, and board expenses connected with
the Board meeting are paid for by DLC. DLC also includes reasonable
accommodations for Board members with disabilities. Members are not
