VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES WITHTHE DISABILITY LAW CENTER There are presently several volunteer opportunities available with DLC. Board of Directors The DLC is looking for Board Members to assist in defining and overseeing the mission of this agency and keeping it relevant to the needs of our community and to provide strategic guidance to the organization and the executive officer. The DLC is committed to appointing Directors who representative of Alaska’s diverse ethnic and cultural communities and to insure the Board reflects different geographic areas of the state. Persons with disabilities, family members, professionals, and providers are all represented on the Board. Mental Health Rights Advisory Committee Federal law also mandates that the Disability Law Center of Alaska have an Advisory Committee that assists the agency in developing the mental health program policies and required annual priorities. At least sixty percent (60%) of the membership of the Committee must be comprised of individuals who have received or are receiving mental health services, or who are family members of such individuals.
