Protection and Advocacy

For People with Mental Illness (PAIMI)

People eligible for DLC services under the PAIMI Act are individuals with significant mental illness or emotional impairments who reside in residential care and treatment facilities or who live in the community, including their own homes. DLC is required to give priority to serving individuals residing in the residential care and treatment facilities. Additionally, DLC must prioritize incidents of inappropriate restraint and seclusion in institutional settings.
